About
Karen is an Associate Legal Executive specialising in private law children cases including disputes over where a child should live and spending time with a parent including cases involving allegations of domestic abuse. Karen has also advised and represented parents on applications about specific issues in a child’s upbringing where there is a disagreement between the parents e.g. where the child lives, time spent with the other parent, change of name, schooling, parental responsibility. Karen also has experience of acting for clients in obtaining court orders were there are concerns a child has or is at risk of being removed from the care of the parent they live with by the other parent including the child being removed from England and Wales.
Karen assists with child protection matters when a children’s services department is involved with a family prior to any court proceedings being issued, including advising on and attending child protection conferences.
Karen represents clients on applications for personal protection arising from domestic abuse issues including applications for non-molestation orders and occupation orders
Karen has been admitted to the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives as an Associate since April 2013 and has been working exclusively in family law for 16 years.
Karen provides legal advice which is accessible for clients and takes a holistic approach to ensure all of her clients are supported and receive advice on the full range of legal and practical options available to them.

Recent cases/case highlights
- Acting for a mother in private law proceedings in which the father did not return the child and was refusing to do so. The mother was understandably very upset and Karen saw her immediately, prepared the application forms and represented her at court the following day. Successfully obtaining an Order for the child to be immediately returned to her care.
- Acting for a woman in obtaining a non molestation order for two years protecting her from her abusive adult
