Samiah is a Paralegal who joined the firm in 2017 and supports our domestic abuse and children law teams. Samiah assists our senior solicitors on private and public law children cases including attending child protection conferences and pre proceedings meetings with parents where children’s services have expressed concerns, and also attends court with counsel. Samiah also provides legal advice to survivors of domestic abuse applying for non-molestation orders, occupation orders and advice in relation to children matters.
Samiah achieved a degree in law in 2011 and has been working in family law for 5 years. Previously Samiah has worked for the Probation Service, the Magistrate’s court and as an Independent Custody Visitor for Lancashire Police. Samiah is in the process of completing the Cilex Course to qualify as a Legal Executive.
Samiah has worked on cases where children have been removed from the care of parents due to child neglect and emotional harm. For example, where children have been physically abused and injured or been exposed to domestic violence between parents. Samiah has also worked on cases where women have been subjected to severe domestic violence and required urgent protection from the Court.
